CULTURE AND COMMUNITY
Val Gandino Linen
The fabric, the relic of the world.
This community initiative, which has garnered recognition and support from the International Center for Shroud Studies (CISS), has enabled the creation of certified 1:1 scale reproductions of the Holy Shroud.
Torri Lana Museum
In 2019, a new space dedicated to hosting events and exhibitions was inaugurated. The museum not only celebrates the company’s rich history but also serves as a hub for cultural exchange, strengthening the connection with the local community and showcasing the textile heritage and expertise of both the company and the region.
Ethic Loom
Threads of Solidarity
Ethic Loom is the first accessory collection by Torri Lana 1885, crafted from recycled materials and fabric samples, repurposed into unique objects through a social initiative.
People, the Heart of Torri Lana 1885
People are at the core of our company, and it is their dedication that enables the quality and excellence of our fabrics. In the textile industry, a true millennia-old art, the cultivation of unique skills is essential. Each stage of production requires specialized expertise, from warping and weaving to quality control, a process still carried out by hand with the keen eye of our skilled employees.
This commitment is also reflected in our ongoing training programs focused on occupational health and safety, to which we devote particular attention ensuring a safe and secure working environment. Our employees receive regular updates and participate in specialized courses, including first aid, firefighting, and workplace safety, to maintain the highest protection standards.
ETHIC LOOM is a project by Torri Lana 1885 where design meets social responsibility. Each collection is unique, featuring home accessories and exclusive pieces created through the imaginative transformation of reclaimed materials. Every bag, cushion, and textile artifact reflect artisanal excellence and embodies a model of reuse that redefines the concept of responsible quality.
At the heart of ETHIC LOOM lies a deep social mission: in collaboration with Il Cardo cooperative in Edolo (BS), we have established a textile atelier where our creative visions come to life. This initiative actively engages vulnerable individuals and people with disabilities, offering them meaningful employment opportunities while also involving volunteers in the process.
Torri Lana 1885 presents ETHIC LOOM not only as a tribute to beauty and high-quality craftsmanship but also as a commitment to the circular economy, durability, and social responsibility.

Environmental Responsibility

Torri Lana 1885 is deeply committed to environmental sustainability, and a key aspect of this commitment is our decision to use energy from renewable sources.
All the energy that powers our facilities comes exclusively from the hydroelectric plants of Grosio and Premadio, located in the province of Sondrio. These plants fully comply with the stringent standards of TÜV SÜD CMS 83, which certifies the effective production of energy from renewable sources mapped and operating within Italy.
A project has been developed for the installation of photovoltaic plant at our production site, and an economic and environmental feasibility assessment is currently underway. This initiative would enable us to independently meet the energy demands of all internal production
phases, further strengthening our commitment to sustainability.
At Torri Lana 1885, environmental respect is a core priority that informs every decision we make. Our facilities operate without producing wastewater and are powered entirely by renewable energy, significantly reducing our environmental footprint.
All wet processes, including dyeing and finishing, are entrusted to specialized partners who rigorously adhere to environmental regulations. These companies implement production practices focused on enhancing efficiency and minimizing environmental impact, which is a top priority throughout our supply chain. We ensure that each stage of production complies with current laws, preserving natural resources and minimizing atmospheric emissions.
